The Virgin "Nuestra Señora de la Chinquiquira"

'Nuestra Señora de la Chiquinquirá ' in Venezuela.
Church in the city of Maracaibo.

"An old lady named Maria Cárdenas made a living by washing other people's clothes, a job she did every morning at the shores of the lake. On November 18th 1709 she took a bulk of clothes, and as usual, went to the lake to start washing them. This old lady was at her chores when she saw a small wooden slab floating towards her. She picked it up thinking that it might be of some use. When she finished her work, she went home carrying the clothes, the wooden slab and a small vase with fresh water. She then placed the board on top of the vase. Then, she noticed a small figure in the board but couldn't tell what it was.

On Tuesday, November 18, 1709, Maria Cardenas was busy running her household chores and grinding cocoa when she heard, in three occasions, the knocks that came from the place where she kept the wooden slab. Feeling curious about this, she went directly to see what was happening and found the slab glowing with a bright light to later find the image of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá.

Surprised and filled with a strong emotion, she immediately ran out of her house located on the 2nd avenue, screaming and shouting the words “Miracle! Miracle!” Her neighbours went where the woman was to find out that the apparition of the Virgin Mary was real. From that day on, the faith of the zulians found their Queen in the “Chinita”. As it has been expressed by many people, “She is the way that leads to Jesus”.

Since that day the street where she lived was renamed "El Milagro" which means Miracle in Spanish, and to this day it is one of the most important streets in the neighbourhood of "El Slidell" in the city of Maracaibo. To this day the wooden slab with the image on it can still be seen in the Basilica in Maracaibo.

legend has it that the government decided that the wood with the image belonged in the capital city, Caracas. So they ordered it moved. As the soldiers following the order carried the image away from Maracaibo it got heavier and heavier until finally no one could lift it. They returned it to the basilica in Maracaibo where it has remained with the belief that no one can remove it.

History Halloween

Special activity of halloween.

Halloween (also spelled Hallowe'en) is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31. It has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holy day of All Saints, but is today largely a secular celebration.

Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, wearing costumes and attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, ghost tours, bonfires, visiting haunted attractions, pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.

I think that halloween is one day to celebrate and to enjoy. In venezuela they should celebrate it like in united states.

The Sayona - Venezuelan Legend

The legend of the Sayona publishes it because this one related to the unit 3 so called mysteries

The legend says that "La Sayona" was a young woman named Melissa. She lived in a small town in the plains of Venezuela and was the most beautiful girl there. She was married to a great man, caring and loving. Melissa and her husband had a baby boy. One day, Melissa was swimming naked in a near-by river, when a man from the village saw her. After that, the man would always follow her and watch her bathe in the river. One day Melissa saw him and told him to leave her alone; he ignored her, and instead told her that he was there to warn her: "Your husband is having an affair with none other than your mother," he said. Melissa ran home and found her husband asleep with the baby in his arms. Blind with anger, she burned the house with them inside. Villagers could hear their screams while Melissa ran to her mother's house. She found her on the patio and attacked her with a machete, striking her in the stomach. As the mother bled to death, she cursed Melissa by saying that from then on she would have to avenge all women by killing their unfaithful husbands. And from that day forward Melissa became "La Sayona".

In other versions of the tale, it appears to lone men working in the jungle when they are thinking of women they left behind in their hometown or simply when they talk to their work mates about wanting to be with a woman. Later on, a woman would appear to them in the likeness of an unknown, beautiful and desirable woman, or a loved one, and try to lure them into the forests so it could then reveal their animal-like features and devour them or just mangle them, leaving their wretched bodies for their companions to find.

I think that the sayona was cruel on having killed her husband, the mother and her own son without checking if he was unfaithful.
In my opinion I believe that this is a mystery though it is said in the Venezuelan plains that there exist several testimonies of his appearance.

The chupacabra - world legend

The legend of the chupacabra publishes it because this one related to the unit 3 so called mysteries.

The Chupacabra or Chupacabras (pronunciation: /tʃupa'kabɾa/, from the Spanish words chupar, meaning "to suck", and cabra, meaning "goat"; literally "goat sucker"), also called El Chupacabras in Spanish, is a legendary cryptid rumored to inhabit parts of the Americas. It is associated more recently with sightings of an allegedly unknown animal in Puerto Rico (where these sightings were first reported), Mexico, and the United States, especially in the latter's Latin American communities. The name comes from the animal's reported habit of attacking and drinking the blood of livestock, especially goats. Physical descriptions of the creature vary. Eyewitness sightings have been claimed as early as 1990 in Puerto Rico, and have since been reported as far north as Maine, and as far south as Chile. It is supposedly a heavy creature, the size of a small bear, with a row of spines reaching from the neck to the base of the tail. Biologists and wildlife management officials view the Chupacabra as a contemporary legend.

In my opinion I believe that the chupacabra does not exist. The physical characteristics of the chupacabra and the animals found without blood are a mystery.

To take care of the environment from the house

Do you know where to reject the oil of the fritters or of all the food that you fry(annoy) in oil, facts in house? Maybe if, but always it is good to spread an information as this one. Though we do not cook many fried food in oil, when we do it, we throw the oil used in an outlet, truth? This it is one of the major mistakes that we can commit. Why do we do it? Simply because there is nobody who explains to us how to do it in suitable form. Being LIKE THAT, the better(best) thing that we can make or recommend to do is:
1. - To wait (If, to wait, though it takes little mas of time) to that the secondhand(worn) oil is cooled.

2. - To place the oil of waste in a bottle of plastic (as those of refreshment).

3. - To close It and to place it then in the normal garbage.

A LITER OF OIL CONTAMINATES NEAR A MILLION LITERS OF WATER! This quantity is sufficient for the consumption of a person for 14 years. If your you choose to realize this practice, the environment was remaining very grateful. Ultimately, it(he) is good for all.
